The Aesop Queer Library Melbourne, 2026
Founded on a belief in the transformative power of queer storytelling, the Aesop Queer Library returns to Australia between 15–19 July. The ephemeral Library offers complimentary books by LGBTQIA+ authors and allies – no purchase required.
Body of Work
For this edition, the Library focuses on the notion of the human body as a bridge between our private interiority and what is shared with the wider world. Writing that centres on the queer body in particular can challenge assumptions, give greater visibility to stories – and bodies – too often obscured from view, and serve as an act of joyful resistance. This year, the Aesop Foundation will be donating to Minus18, an Australian nationwide charity supporting LGBTQIA+ young people.

As in years past, we have partnered with Penguin Random House to source titles from a diverse range of queer authors.
